Grow Together for a Better Tomorrow

At Bahamas Bloom, we believe in fostering a vibrant community through education and hands-on programs. Our programs inspire children and adults alike to learn about the environment and nurture nature's beauty.

Our hallmark program is Camp Bloom, a summer day camp for children on San Salvador, The Bahamas.

Bahamas Bloom is a 501c3 non-profit organization started by Dr. Dawn M. Ford of Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Ford began her journey in the Bahamas as a graduate student at Miami University of Ohio. As a student of Dr. Hardy Eshbaugh, she found her passion in tropical island science on Andros Island at the Forfar Field Station. When she became faculty herself, she started taking students to the Gerace Research Centre on San Salvador and has been engaged with the community there for nearly 30  years. Bahamas Bloom was founded in 2021.
